4.1

4.1
Side wall outside a coffee shop, somewhere in Los Angeles.

It is said that time heals. I do not agree with that.
Time has made me learn to live with pain, and it is a slow process that is far from easy. After a traumatic loss, my heart and soul have a gigantic hole in them.

Continuing to spend time taking care of myself and spending time with family+loved ones, I also feel quite blessed and grateful for the loving support of friends, readers, and all of you, for your constant check-in and for reading this blog. and everyone that has reached out in the past 1+year.
2011 was a life changing, dark+difficult year.

Taking one day at a time, and slowly taking small sips back into the world around me, the daily sunrise and thankful for today – a sunny April 1st in San Francisco.

  3. I too have really missed you! Your sunshine and your spirit full of joy and your beautiful photography. I'm sure the Meli of this past year has not been the Meli of the blog of "before it all happened," but I do hope that the two Melis come together in time, healed, full of joy, and strong. You're missed and loved!

  4. Some things you will not get over but in time the pain dulls and you get used to it.
That dull pain is where you carry that which you love. I am somehow comforted with that reminder.

  10. Wish I could say something profound, but words aren't adequate in some situations.

I know from experience that pain doesn't go away, but in time it becomes softer-edged and easier to live with. Take comfort in your family and friends.

    Sending you love...

  24. You are an inspiration. I once wrote here that your blog wasn't a "happy hour" but a happy few minutes each day when I could read what you had to say.
"Turn pain into power" shows what you are made of.
