Found these teal patches a few weeks ago and just got the chance to snap some fotos.
This mural is alongside McAllister at Divis, right at the west bound Muni bus stop for the 5.
I'm assuming the teal is covering up graffiti but I am completely in love with the unintentional junction and the uneven combination of the blocky teal/mural contrast as a result.

Here are some of the detail up close:

Another Meli-g mural instant fave...
ReplyDeletethanks as always sig :)
DeleteHi Meli! Yes, the teal patches are covering random tags. I thought it was a little goofy at first, but the patches have grown on me and the random tags, if left as they were, just made the whole thing look dirty. I dream a 'hidden layer', to come through on these patches, but who knows what's next.
ReplyDeleteah that's interesting -- a hidden layer! :)
Deleteyes, also saw the mural>patches>graffiti left on that plant corner store, which was the stool store. hope that gets cleaned up soon...
so nice to see frenchie. love the new look of the wall too.
ReplyDeletethx babe
Deletethere's a beautiful mural painted by my friend jet martinez at the now closed plantit earth on divis/grove. it has similar but not as complementary and carefully painted patches covering part of it up.
ReplyDeleteoh yes, I agree with you.
DeleteI took some fotos that same day and just today, saw that it has a new layer of grafitti and some new paint. they are in this set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/meligrosa/sets/72157631853601683/
